Took a break from finals to draw Patrick Troughton/2nd Doctor.
Ballpoint pens, about an hour
I figured I’ll slowly put up some of these old animal drawings of mine.
This is an Eastern Box turtle, a resident I find at my house from time to time. They used to be very common in this area, but with habitat loss due to human population and farming land, they’re now very rare. I’m lucky to see more than a dozen a year as opposed to a few decades ago when my parents would see them almost daily.
Their brightly colored shells help them blend in with leaf litter as they go foraging for anything from insects to fruits. They are very long lived, and for a long time, we would be able to see resident turtles and recognize them by the patterns on their shells, or by old healed over injuries that made them easy to spot.
This was drawn in 2006, with markers.
Here’s an old Thror’s map I drew when I was 11-12. I copied it out of a grubby old paperback of The Hobbit from the 70’s, so a lot of things are spelled wrong because the ink ran together in the print XD
5th Doctor Peter Davison with his brainy specs on.
I hope to give this to him and or have him sign this at Mysticon this weekend. It must be odd having people draw pictures of you, so I dunno. I hope he likes it. :/
Colored pencils and a bit of white paint.
4 hours work

Rewatching BBC Sherlock, so I made a drawing. There’s also a detail shot, but I don’t know how much you can see in that.
Colored pencils and white paint.

The Gallifreycrumb Tinies finished!
Book to come soon?
You can see these and other Doctor Who comics that update Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on Doctor Kawaii
Apparently the overall theme of this past year’s drawn artwork has been “Stern looking British men looking left.”
Except that Watson one.
:/
Today I went to New York Comic Con and got this high quality drawing I made of Peter Davison autographed. I went up in line to get it autographed, and his handler/assistant was so terribly confused as to why I would have a crayon drawing signed rather than a snazzy glossy photo, while Peter Davison thought it was hilarious.
I also gave him this Doctor Whoooooo owl, which he also thought was fun and a little spooky (having the ability to twist your head 360 degrees will slightly disturb anyone, I guess).
He was super nice and awesome, it was the highlight of my Saturday.
