Had time to do an hour sketch for the first time in 80000 years tonight. Sketched a 2nd Doctor being all frowny (probably because Ice Warriors are ruining his day). Ballpoint pen

2013; the year I drew a bunch of unimpressed looking white dudes.

Colored pencils

Some Doctor Who portraits! Done in either ballpoint pen or colored pencils (and a little white paint)

Done between 2011-2013

I also drew a John Barrowman for New York Comic Con. Hopefully he’ll like it. I’d like to get one signed for me.

I drew a Colin Baker for New York Comic Con later this week. I hope to get it signed, I hope he likes it. He doesn’t really smile much in the show, so my choice of reference was either grumpy or frowny.

Scanned version of the 9th Doctor sketch I did at Interventioncon this weekend. About and hour and a half’s work in some ballpoint pen I found. Will make a colored version one of these days!

Great Spotted Kiwi (Apteryx haastii)
The largest of its 5 species, the great spotted kiwi is found only in the colder and hilly areas of South Island in New Zealand. This large flightless bird isn’t very active as it needs to conserve its energy to keep warm in the low temperatures, though it will actively and aggressively defend its territory against other kiwis. They fight and defend themselves with their powerful legs and are equipped with three very sharp claws. Though not visible under it’s almost fur like feathers, kiwis have very small wings and no tail at all. Kiwis are some of the only birds who rely almost exclusively on their sense of smell because their eyesight is so poor. They have small nostrils at the end of their beaks and have sensitive whiskers to help them pick up on anything on the forest floor that might be edible.  These birds are mostly nocturnal, coming out to forage under the safe cover of night. Kiwis lay the largest egg in proportion to its body of any other animal in the world. Because of the egg’s large size and energy requirements, kiwis can only lay once a year if food is plentiful.  Once the chick is born, it will stay in a burrow where it hatched for up to a year while it grows up. While still endangered, the great spotted kiwi has a considerably large population in relation to its other kiwi relatives at about 10-20,000. Its main threats are invasive species that prey on it like rats, possums and cats, and habitat destruction.

Done in watercolors in August of 2006, when I was 16. This was one of the first watercolor paintings I had ever made.
